Manchester United are said to be monitoring Bournemouth attacker Marcus Tavernier ahead of the summer transfer market.
The club are expected to strengthen the left side of their attack during the market, with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande believed to be their leading target in that position.
Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford. However, a large portion of Manchester United’s summer budget is expected to be used to improve their midfield options.
Marcus Tavernier emerges as transfer option for Manchester United
According to the Daily Mail, Tavernier has now emerged as a genuine option for Manchester United.
The report states that the Bournemouth attacker could be available for around £40 million during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are believed to value Tavernier’s Premier League experience and his lower price compared to other targets such as Diomande and Gordon.
Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest also monitoring Marcus Tavernier
The Red Devils may face competition if they decide to pursue a deal for the Bournemouth attacker.
Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are also reported to be interested in Tavernier following his performances this season.

The 26-year-old has been in strong form for Bournemouth during the current campaign.
Marcus Tavernier performances for Bournemouth this season
Tavernier has scored six goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances for Bournemouth during the current season.
In the Premier League, he has recorded five goals and four assists.
The attacker joined Bournemouth from Middlesbrough in August 2022 and has since made 116 appearances for the club. During that time, he has scored 18 goals and registered 18 assists.
Across his Premier League career, Tavernier has recorded 16 goals and 18 assists in 107 appearances.
Marcus Tavernier versatility could appeal to Manchester United
Tavernier is capable of playing in multiple attacking positions, which could make him an attractive option for Manchester United.

The Bournemouth attacker also scored against Manchester United earlier this season. He found the net with a free kick at Old Trafford during a 4-4 draw in December.
Tavernier currently has a contract with Bournemouth that runs until the summer of 2029.
