Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is eyeing a sensational Premier League return with Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to TBR Football.
Rodgers, who was recently fired from the Celtic job, is now eyeing a return as a manager in the Premier League.
The former Leicester City boss had success with the Scottish side. However, the start of the season has been poor from Celtic, and investors were unhappy with Rodgers.
That is why the ex-Liverpool boss resigned from his managerial post at Celtic. Currently, Ange Postecoglou is leading the race to replace Rodgers at Celtic.
The Australian recently got sacked twice by two different Premier League clubs.
At the end of last season, Postecoglou got sacked from his role as the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, even after winning the Europa League.
A few weeks back, Postecoglou replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at Nottingham Forest. But he was also sacked only after 39 days of taking charge of the club.
Now, Ange is looking to resurrect his managerial career by returning to the club where he became famous by winning back-to-back Scottish leagues and a domestic treble.
Wolves ready to sack Vitor Pereira
Wolves are battling relegation this season. And, Vitor Pereira is under fire. Also, Wolves are winless this season and are at the bottom of the Premier League table.
They are the only Premier League team this season that has yet to register a win. And they have made history by losing to all newly promoted sides this season.
After their recent loss against Burnley, Vitor Pereira had a confrontation with the Wolves fans, along with their goalkeeper, Jose Sa.
Their board is divided on what they should do with Pereira. Half of their board members want to get rid of him, and the other half is still backing him.
One thing is clear: the manager is on thin ice and needs to start producing results. Otherwise, the sack is inevitable for Vitor Pereira after losing the fanbase with his actions.
Brendan Rodgers to replace Vitor Pereira at Wolves
According to reports, Brendan Rodgers can replace Vitor Pereira at Wolves once the Portuguese gets the sack.
Rodgers was very close to winning the Premier League with Liverpool. However, that iconic Steven Gerard slip ensured his team’s fate.
Also, the Northern Irishman was the manager of Leicester City when they won the FA Cup by defeating Chelsea at Wembley in 2021.
So, if Rodgers decides to join Wolves, then they will be his fourth Premier League side. He also helped Swansea City achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2011.
Can Brendan Rodgers replace Sean Dyche at Nottingham Forest?
The situation at Nottingham Forest is absolutely farcical. Their owner, Evangelos Marinakis, is turning this great and historic football club into a circus.
They started their season with Nuno Espirito Santo, who did a remarkable job to secure their European qualification last season.
Towards the end of last season, Marinakis had some issues with Nuno, and their relationship broke down completely.
So, after losing a game, Marinakis sacks the Portuguese and hires the man who won the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur last season, Ange Postecoglou.
The Australian was in charge for just 39 days before getting the sack from Marinakis. Although Ange didn’t do any favour to his case by not winning a single game with Forest.
Now, only after a loss to Bournemouth, the speculations about Sean Dyche getting the sack have begun. So, Nottingham Forest is not a stable project.
Also, wherever Brendan Rodgers goes to manage, he gives the club his own identity. There was a time when he was linked with a move to Manchester United.
So, Nottingham Forest will not be the kind of job Brendan Rodgers would like to take up. Instead, the Wolves’ job looks far more promising than their relegation rival’s.
