Liverpool player ratings vs West Ham United from their 2-0 victory

Mohamed Salah stayed on the sidelines while Liverpool calmly beat West Ham 2–0. Arne Slot counted on his new players – and this time, they came through.

Alexander Isak found the net for the first time in the league with his new team. Meanwhile, Florian Wirtz played his best game yet since joining.

The game didn’t kick off fast. Neither side came out strong, so the crowd at London Stadium stayed quiet at first.

West Ham dropped back, looking to hit on breaks, yet Liverpool held onto the ball but created little danger.

Alphonse Areola kept active whenever tested. Yet he made an outstanding stop to block Isak’s long shot while also clearing a risky cross by Joe Gomez.

Even so, Liverpool found it tough to change their control into solid opportunities prior to halftime.

Still, Wirtz was sharp right away. Because of his runs and quick passes, West Ham’s defense stayed under pressure.

At 60 minutes, he made the key play. Moving left, checking the space, he fired a clever pass off the outside of his foot through a tiny opening.

Gakpo poked it across, so Isak tucked it into the far side of the net. Liverpool kept things under control after that point.

With calm play, they set the pace – shutting down West Ham’s rhythm while staying solid at the back.

No real threat emerged once ahead. Then came Paquetá’s wild foul, sending him off and killing any hope of a turnaround.

In added minutes, Gakpo finished off a pass from Joe Gomez, putting Liverpool ahead – they won fair and square, no Salah required.

Here are the Liverpool player ratings vs West Ham United from their 2-0 victory:
