Wolves are in a precarious situation this season. Vitor Pereira’s side is currently fighting to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

In the meantime, the rumours of Wolves’ takeover bids are emerging as fans are not happy with the current ownership.

The current owners of Wolves are Fosun International, which is a Chinese conglomerate. Their Chairman, Jeff Shi, has publicly stated that the club is looking for a minority investment.

Keeping with those lines, talkSPORT recently revealed that the former Crystal Palace owner, John Textor, has launched a bid to take over the Wolverhampton Wanderers football club.

Now, according to Football Insider, Wolves are looking for a full takeover. They are only looking for a minority investment.

This may seem like a big blow for the fans of the club, which is at the bottom of the Premier League table. In fact, Vitor Pereira was involved in a supporter with his fans.

So, the Portuguese manager is under severe pressure to get sacked by the board. However, it looks like the club is in a transition phase as far as the ownership goes.

That is why surviving in the English top flight will be the main goal for Vitor Pereira’s side this season. In the meantime, the board seems to be backing Pereira.

How much is John Textor ready to pay for the Wolves takeover?

Now, with the John Textor bid, it is unlikely that the former Palace owner will face any problem in getting what he wants.

The American received ÂŁ190 million after he sold his Crystal Palace stake due to a conflict of interest in participating in European competition.

Textor owns the majority of the French club Lyon. Also, he has shares in Brazilian club Botafogo along with the Belgian side RWD Molenbeek.

As talkSPORT reported, Textor is ready to offer ÂŁ150 million in cash and will buy ÂŁ250 million worth of stake in the club.

According to the report of Football Insider, it is expected that the American billionaire will not face much competition if he tries to buy Wolves.

So, this will not be a full takeover as the Chinese owners of the club will not sell it fully. They are just looking for investments. And, John Textor could be the man to provide that investment.

The Football Buzzer’s opinion on John Textor’s Wolves takeover bid

Wolves are in crisis. They sold Matheus Cunha to Manchester United this summer for a hefty fee. However, they have failed to reinvest that into their club in the right way.

Also, the performances of the players are not helping. The manager, Vitor Pereira, is under pressure. The Wolves fans are looking to get rid of him.

The fallout with the fans after the Burnley loss was the tipping point for those fans. They want him out as soon as possible.

However, there is uncertainty inside the boardroom. Some members are ready to let him go, whereas others are still backing him.

The ones backing Pereira also don’t have confidence in the Portuguese. However, they know the state of the club. Firing Pereira will be costly for Wolves.

Also, they need to find a replacement. Celtic are in a similar position as they are struggling to find a replacement of Brendan Rodgers, who is linked with a move to Wolves.

However, such a deal looks unlikely now as the ownership issues will make things complicated. And, a manager like Rodgers will not be willing to take up a club like Wolves in this current situation.

So, honestly, this entire Wolves takeover thing seems like an eyewash because Wolves fans are desperate for a change after such a horrible start to their Premier League campaign.
